The opportunity:
We are looking for an Accounting Manager who will be responsible for compiling various financial information to assist in preparing Clutter’s financial statements and management reports as well as one-off projects on an ad-hoc basis. This role will be working directly with the Controller to shape the company’s accounting policies, processes and help build the scalable accounting solutions catering to a high-growth start-up. There will be exciting system implementation projects to shepherd and highly intelligent and insightful teams to work with. You will also be coaching and mentoring a highly motivated accounting staff.
What you’ll do:
Reconcile and review various financial accounts on a monthly basis including, but not limited to, revenue, deferred expenses, deferred revenue, debt, and accrued expenses.
Help to optimize month end close by spearheading process improvements
Perform analysis over changes in financial accounts. Help explain key drivers and understand the business impact
Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis
Update the monthly internal reporting package for key metrics used by the business
Support the requests made by tax and financial auditors and ensure audits are completed promptly with a quality product
Compile cash forecast and help oversee the management of operational cash flows
Partner with Finance to deliver support and guidance on annual operating plan and forecast
Partner with Controller on implementing ‘IPO Readiness’ initiatives such as the adoption of ASC guidance, compilation of GAAP Financial Statements, and internal controls framework
What we’re looking for:
6+ years of progressive accounting experience with 2 years of managerial experience in a public or private company
4+ years of GL accounting experience including preparation of journal entries and performing period end close procedures and balance sheet reconciliations
Excellent knowledge of GAAP and complete understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen and ability to present to senior management
Flexible, “special-projects” orientation coupled with solid multi-tasking abilities
Team player in a start-up environment who possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills, a positive attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves
Preferences are CPA/MBA
What we offer:
Base salary range of $130,000to $150,000, based on experience and geography
