Air & Ocean Import Specialist
A fantastic opportunity has become available as an Air & Ocean Import Specialist, working for a highly respected global freight forwarder based in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
Duties:
- Coordinate Import shipments from origin, shipper, truckers, steamship lines and airlines
- Arrange pickup and delivery for inland transportation
- Track the shipment to ensure it has reached the final destination
- Verifies shipment weight and volumes
- Calculates rates with the ability to convert pricing and rates
- Obtain and create quotes for shipments and source best method of transportation
- Ensure SOP and tariff compliance along with best practices and efficiency's
- Supports local sales efforts with timely responses to emails and rate requests
- Maintain communications with the customers, carries and vendors
- Responsible for filling Pre alerts and ISF's
- Handles the full process from A-Z
- Handling and resolving Import troubleshooting issues
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2+ years in the Freight Forwarding industry
- Ability to communicate and provide great customer service
- Being able to work independently and part of a team
- Knowledge of local and international carriers and routes
- Able to cope under pressure and meet deadlines
- Great organisational skills
- Outgoing and forward-thinking mindset
- Ability to navigate and work efficiently using IT software
Desired Qualifications:
- CargoWise
- Ability to commute to work
- Flexible attitude towards work
- High School Diploma or Bachelor's
This is a direct hire, full-time, permanent position.
Location: Cleveland
Salary: $65k (DOE)
