ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER JOB D E S C R I P T I O N

REPORTS TO:

Store Manager

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:

Assist Store Manager in the supervision of merchandising, operations, and personnel functions at assigned Angel View’s Resale Stores. Act in the best interests of Angel View in the Store Manager’s absence.

KEY DUTIES:

· Provide for excellent customer service and donor relations with the ability to effectively communicate to others in a friendly, confident, professional and timely manner.

· Honesty, integrity and exercising sound judgment.

· Train, supervise, and motivate the staff with consistency and fair appropriate behavior as directed by the Store Manager.

· Advise Store Manager of disciplinary matters requiring attention.

· Delegate responsibilities appropriate for each position.

· Train and supervise volunteer staff and maintain associated documentation as dictated by assigned organization in a timely manner.

· Abide by and enforce all company Policies and Procedures.

· Meet inventory production quotas to help ensure maximum sales performance. Provide for the efficient, organized movement of inventory through the donation sorting and pricing process and onto the selling floor as directed by the Store Manager.

· Supervise the overall housekeeping and maintenance functions and maintaining a clean and organized store.

· Contact Senior Management when dealing with a Federal and/or State Labor Law.

· Report major repair issues to the Store Manager, District Manager and/or the Director of Store Operations in a timely manner.

· Maintain merchandise presentation standards as directed by the Store Manager, District Manager, or Director of Store Operations.

· Ensure that daily receipts are reconciled and deposited on a timely basis according to company guidelines.

· Maintain programs to encourage safe business practices, minimizing the potential for injuries among staff, customers, and donors by conducting safety meetings and following safety guidelines in accordance to the policies set forth by the Safety Coordinator.

· Assist with, enforce and carry out the Recycling Program as directed by the Transportation Manager.

· If assigned by the Store Manager, conduct safety meetings and follow safety guidelines in accordance to the policies set forth by the Safety Coordinator.

· Respond to alarm calls.

· Create a positive store environment and good working relations with senior management, transportation department and staff.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma and equivalent business experience.

Ability to read and comprehend the English language.

Be able to make basic business mathematical calculations.

Basic knowledge of Excel and Word programs.

Customer focus

Market knowledge of various merchandise types

EQUIPMENT USED:

Point of Sale System Telephone Ten Key Calculator Computers Keys

Fax Machine Credit Card Machine

Merchandise ticketing equipment; Tag Guns, Sticky Ticket Guns

Familiarity with various store fixtures and mechanical systems

Automobile

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

Sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, push/pull/ lifting/push/pull up to 40 lbs. ,

climbing stairs occasionally.

Travel related to business (e.g. bank, meetings)

Visual inspections of facility, reports, equipment

Job Type: Full-time
