The Cataract Services Manager works closely with the cataract surgeons and provides leadership and guidance to the cataract clinical teams. The Cataract Services Manager invests deeply in the teams, develops their career paths, and drives quality and efficiency standards that result in the highest levels of patient satisfaction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Previous experience in medical/surgical ophthalmology required; COT/COA preferred.
High school graduate required.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business, healthcare administration, or related fields preferred but not required.

Technology savvy, with competency in Office Suite and the ability to learn software applications as required.
Foundation in clinical ophthalmology.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides daily leadership, guidance, and operational oversight to the cataract teams.
Manages patient flow and quality initiatives and provides day-to-day recommendations for continually improving the patient experience.
Works directly with the CEO and lead cataract surgeon, functioning as his team lead and practice liaison to provide daily guidance and direction to the team.
Works closely with the cataract surgeons to promote clear communication and direction to their teams while supporting their practice goals.
Partners with ASC leadership to promote the surgery patient’s experience and outcomes.
Interviews candidates, makes recommendations for hire, and provides support for onboarding and training of the team.
Provides and supports individual growth opportunities and career development plans; provides continuous and meaningful feedback, including performance evaluations.
Creates work schedules that maximize efficient utilization of the team.
Recommends continuous improvements to physicians’ templates and the scheduling process to ensure efficient and smooth patient flow and cohesive staff utilization.
Ensures the availability of medical and office supplies and supports inventory management.
