POSITION SUMMARY
- Maintains customer's cataloging database based on local library practices for projects and accounts.
- This includes adding, deleting, and maintaining data significant to the individual customers' requirements.
- Manipulates, converts, and updates data to conform to customers' local cataloging practices. Generates information for the creation and extraction of MARC records using the Cataloging utility.
- Makes printed products based on local practices. Obtains branch distribution to assist in producing inventory records.
- Interprets MARC record and material content for the appropriate codes for different Library Automation Systems.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, and lift/move up to 10 pounds. The employee must frequently reach with hands and arms and occasionally walk. Specific vision requirements include close vision in order to view PC screen.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

High school graduate or equivalent and one to three years of work experience.- Ability to learn about the manipulation of MARC records and cataloging practices.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively to customers and other employees.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
