Planned Parenthood of Southwest & Central Florida is looking for the right candidate to fill the role of Health Care Phone Representative for our Sarasota location.

DESCRIPTION:
Schedules patient appointments for multiple clinics via phone and enters appointment and client information into medical management system. Answers phone inquiries about PPSWCF’s services. Provides information and appointment scheduling services in an effective, efficient and nonjudgmental manner.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedules patient appointments as per protocol, via phone and email.
- Maintains confidentiality and exercises sensitivity and a nonjudgmental manner in dealing with sexuality and sensitive issues with clients.
- Maintains a sensitive and warm demeanor with callers.
- Ensures appointments scheduled coincides with health center and provider availability.
- Appropriately screens and directs patient calls requiring immediate or same day medical assistance.
- Attends department and all-staff meetings as scheduled.
- Manages a high volume of calls, collects and inputs client demographics, data, and schedules appointments for clients using the medical management system.
- Provides information about all services offered by PPSWCF, including pre-appointment information.
- Provides and documents fee information and any appointment instructions
- Assists with the daily collection of required data and calculates statistics as requested.
- Completes documentation for patient chart when providing any relevant clinical information.
- Confirms appointments and documents confirmation in medical management system.
- Other duties as assigned by the Call Center Manager and or Director of Patient Services.
- Participates in call center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity based on the Call Center Metrics Report and the Call to Appointment Ratio.
- Adheres to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time on the phone, and the system for addressing client complaints.
- Participates in call center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals via the Mail A Pill program.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Surgical services: knowledge and understanding of abortion protocols,
- Education: High school or GED
- Basic skills/knowledge: Must be committed to quality medical care, informed consent, and confidentiality,. Must be sensitive to individual client need and problems. Must believe in voluntary family planning and reproductive choice and have strong interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience: One year of related experience and/or training. Experience in a family planning setting, and knowledge of contraceptive technology preferred.
- Language Skills: Accuracy in verbal and written communications. Bilingual/Spanish helpful.
- Reasoning abilities: Proven ability to evaluate and determine appropriate course of action with fairness and accuracy.
- Equipment/Machine use: Medical and office equipment as appropriate including computer software, telephone, fax machine, and copier.
- Equipment/Machine use: Exceptional computer skills required, including the ability to multitask and navigate multiple programs and computer windows. High speed internet access at home.
- Workspace: Quiet, noise-free home office space that is free of distractions.
- Location/Travel/Physical: Reliable transportation to and from work, occasional in-state vehicle travel. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of PPSWCF's total compensation package for employees.
