The Chief Medical Officer will be joining a state-of-the-art, 100+ patient bed medical center that is home to numerous inpatient and outpatient medical specialties such as 24/7 emergency care, heart care, pregnancy and childbirth, and most commonly, orthopedic and bariatric surgery with an impressive inpatient and outpatient pharmacy. The Chief Medical Officer will oversee daily operations of the hospital and clinics. In this role, the Chief Medical Officer will collaborate effectively with members of the board and administration to implement strategic plans that align with the hospital’s mission of delivering exceptional healthcare.
The Chief Medical Officer CMO will manage and evaluate the hospitals highly skilled Physicians, oversee clinical operations, develop and manage the facility’s budget, and oversee physician recruitment. The position of CMO is an experienced physician leader that has experience effectively collaborating with the medical staff and hospital corporation. This healthcare leader should ideally possess an MD or DO Degree from an accredited college of medicine and portray career progression.
Knowledge in utilization management and familiarity with Joint Commission and Medicare standards and the accreditation process will make for quick interviews. The ability to handle interpersonal conflict, public speaking, and understanding in quality improvement initiatives are important qualities for this Hospital Chief Medical Officer to possess.
