Inventory Control Specialist I How you’ll make a difference? Follows set procedures for issuing parts from inventory for work-in-process jobs, material usage and for shipping product and miscellaneous material to Orthofix customers and various end-users. After proper training, the ICS must be able to understand and interpret the requirements from the GMP and ISO for Orthofix inventory processes. What will be your Duties and Responsibilities? - Coordinate material requisitions (MT’s and job pick lists) and the issuing of materials.
- Understand and be able to interpret the requisition to satisfy the customers’ requirements.
- Pick material and identify shortages affecting production schedules.
- Daily identification and reconciliation of inventory variances that will help eliminate expediting cost and manufacturing down time.
- Perform duties associated with receiving material on the Orthofix inbound dock.
- Recognize the various types of material receipts at the dock, sort by type and deliver to the appropriate location in a timely manner.
- Material handling involving safety and proper lifting techniques.
- Perform duties associated with shipping material from the Orthofix outbound dock.
- Utilize skills and knowledge of shipping via various carriers.
- Regular attendance required.
What skills you’ll need?
- Reading and writing skills usually associated with the completion of a high school education.
- Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations.
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow all inventory procedures.
- Accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
- Receive and comprehend hazardous chemical training.
- Ability and desire to be cross- trained on all jobs required in inventory control.
- Strong decision-making skills regarding inventory adjustments or shipment priorities.
- Ability to work in a non-stop, fast-paced, multiple task environment with some exposure to the elements.
- Experience shipping via Federal Express and various other carriers.
- Computer experience in Windows environment.
- Knowledge of proper material handling techniques.
Nonessential Skills, Experience and Qualifications (not necessary but preferred):
- Use of electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Excel and Word for Windows reporting experience.

- Ability to pick up, push, pull and handle the minimum of 40lbs independently and 100lbs with assistance.
- Twisting, lifting, bending, stooping walking and reaching overhead 95% of the day.
- Regularly required to bend, reach, stretch, stand, and walk daily.
- Frequently required to move objects weighing a minimum of 15 lbs.
- Eyesight must be correctable to 20/20, hearing corrected to standard level.
- Ability to operate a dolly, dock plate, pallet jack and platform truck safely upon receipt of training.
