Part-time, non-tenure track, for placement in Spring, Summer and/or Fall lecturer pool, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds and actual staffing requirements for East Hawaii (Hilo), West Hawaii (Kailua-Kona), and/or North Hawaii (Honokaa) campuses. Must be able to attend campus meetings.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, conduct lecture and as appropriate, laboratory courses in the discipline.
- May include instructional assignment involving distance education.
- Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
- Possible evening, weekend and off-campus assignments.
- Conduct student evaluations of teaching effectiveness.
- Participate in assessment of course learning outcomes.
- Adhere to all due dates, including the online submission of grades.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural, Engineering and CAD Technologies and 3 years related work experience;
- OR Associate degree in Architectural, Engineering and CAD Technologies and 5 years related work experience;
- OR 15 college credits and 7 years related work experience including training.
- If qualified applicants are not available, those not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiar with surveying techniques and the use of surveying equipment such as the Total Station with data collector, GPS, etc. Able to translate data and create drawings of site plans through both manual drafting and use of CAD software. GIS and sustainable site management experience desirable.
- Familiar with the practice of architecture in the State of Hawaii as well as the A.I.A. standard architectural office documents and procedures. LEED/NGBS experience and use of AutoCAD and SketchUp desirable.
- Willingness to work with Running Start and Early College programs and pass required additional screening as necessary.
- Demonstrated commitment and/or experience promoting equity and a diverse workforce/academic environment.
- Demonstrated commitment and/or experience supporting the success of students.
