Maximus is currently hiring for a Nurse Practitioner!
This position supports the Independent Practitioner Panel (IPP) by being actively engaged with their immediate team and communicating with staff across the program to support program quality. The incumbent participates in the ongoing operation of an effective quality monitoring program by developing work instructions, conducting quality reviews, providing related training and guidance to program staff, and participating in audits to support completeness, accuracy, and consistency. The NP QA may conduct clinical appointments, as needed.
The six (6) month time in title requirement has been waived for this position for internal staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Quality Assurance Manager to implement an effective quality monitoring program
- Collects data related to Practitioner Order and Care Plan Reviews
- Perform initial in-home evaluations of patients that includes evaluation of health status, strengths, care needs, and preferences utilizing the UAS-NY assessment tool
- Examines cases at random for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
- Examines data for outliers and researches such cases
- Develops/completes reports that track and trend activities/outcomes
- Acts as an advisor to program staff on all QA and Compliance issues related to the IPP program
- Conducts clinical appointments via telehealth or at the consumer’s location, as required
- Attends Fair Hearing cases and prepare case packets, as required
- Meets all standards established for this position as outlined in the corresponding annual performance criteria and bonus template for this position
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree from a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program required
- NYS Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant required
- Preferred Specialties for Nurse Practitioners: Internal Medicine, Adult Health, Community Health, Family Practice, Psychiatry
- Two (2) or more years practicing experience as a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant required
- 1+ years’ work experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement including, medical record/chart review audits, data collection and analysis
- Strong working ability with all forms of technology
- Ability to navigate multiple systems, intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, ability to learn and adapt to new technology quickly
- Exceptional analytical skills; detail and solution-oriented
- Ability to work independently as well as with a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals
