The Role
Mission
Assist the purchasing team to ensure product is ordered promptly and delivered based on the needs of the customers. Update expected delivery information based on vendor feedback and customer requests to ensure accurate communication. Manage vendor relationships and follow through with any ordering issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
Roles and Responsibilities
Place accurate purchase orders (PO) with vendors daily
Manage pending backorders to ensure prompt delivery. Proactively reach out to vendors to troubleshoot issues with orders. Solve any issues, including receiving discrepancies, related to incoming POs.
Maintain accurate estimated delivery dates in ERP system (Prophet 21) for incoming POs.
Communicate between sales team and vendor to solve any issues.
Work with vendors to reduce costs of purchased items. Seek out new vendor relationships as needed to ensure lower cost, always focused on customer satisfaction.
Administer the freight claim process, working with Warehouse, Customer Service and Finance teams, to ensure freight claims are correctly processed with freight company and AC insurance.
Daily maintenance and review of Open Purchase Order, Unconfirmed Open PO & Shipment Reports to resolve any issues quickly.
Initiate and respond to any vendor communications via phone and email.
Teamwork. Work together with team members to support the Edmac business, and overall team results.
Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-oriented image to customers.
Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
None
Experience
2+ years of office admin experience and exposure to a business system that allows for familiarization with accounting practices, inventory management, and PO management.
Education
College degree, or equivalent work experience.
Skills
Very strong communication and critical thinking skills; process oriented.
Knowledge of Microsoft suite applications – particularly Excel and Outlook.
PC literate and basic phone and computer skills.
Knowledge of Prophet 21 system is desirable or similar ERP systems.
Self-motivator who follows the work process and who likes to be challenged to solve problems as they arise.
