Who We Want
Under supervision of an administrator, assists certificated staff in the direct delivery of instruction, with physical and behavioral support, in a classroom setting throughout all schools within the San Francisco Unified School District to meet program needs of a student(s) who has a disabling condition as determined by a Section 504 Plan. Work location(s) will vary as based on the need for paraprofessional support at a school site as determined by Student, Family and Community Support Department staff. Employee may be transferred to various school sites during the school year, as needed. The primary objective of such assistance is to ensure equal access to education for a student(s) with physical or mental, including behavioral, impairments.
Under the supervision of a Student, Family and Community Support Department administrator, the Section 504 Itinerant Paraprofessional will work with a student(s) with physical or mental, including behavioral impairments to ensure that his/her individual educational needs are met as adequately as the needs of a non-disabled student(s). These paraprofessionals will possess skills in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) and be knowledgeable of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
