Washington Central Unified Union School District is looking for a School Social Worker who will work on a district wide basis with teams to support students ability to access the learning environment. The School Social Worker must have an understanding of how adverse childhood experiences impact student learning and behavior, as well as the intersection of ABA and trauma-informed practices. As a key member of our support team, the successful candidate will partner with school administrators and teachers to develop and implement plans that provide specialized support for selected students throughout the course of the school year. The elementary school social worker will be responsible for behavior plans at both the Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels and will be expected to thoughtfully integrate trauma-informed, applied behavior analysis and other social, emotional and behavioral techniques with students.RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide consultation to teams in order to support the overall success of students ability to function effectively in the school environment Communicate with parents, teachers and administrators Develops co-regulation/ treatment plans to be implemented throughout the school environment Maintain accurate records and monitor the progress of co-regulation plans through the use of dataProvide professional development to staff across the district, as neededCertified Handle With Care (HWC) Trainer Participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process as necessary Participate in professional development opportunities as they pertain to this work Assists in the development of policies, procedures, and the Comprehensive Discipline PlanProvides oversight and supervision of the Behavior Interventionists across the districtPERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITES: Demonstrates commitment to the evolving field of behavioral intervention, trauma-informed practices and social-emotional learningRemains current in information and research within this fieldPractices effective interpersonal relationships and communications; compassionate and approachable personalityStrong sense of discretion and professionalism
