The Opportunity
At Teladoc Health Inc, a Senior Cloud architect is an enabler and communicator that interprets the cloud infrastructure needs of Product Management and our Technical Optimization Team, documents those needs at a conceptual level, and partners with Product, AppDev and Infrastructure Engineering to create appropriate solutions for the short, medium, and long-term evolution of complex systems in healthcare. A person in this role coordinates with Agile Release Train Engineers to enable critical-path analysis, and roadmap planning. Finally, it is the Architect’s job to document common standards, platforms and communicate both new solutions and emergent standards to all parties to ensure that the company “knows what it knows” and “learns what it needs to know next”.
Architects at Teladoc Health are not high-level engineers who dictate solutions to others. This group is high IQ and high EQ. We are looking for professionals who are humble, collaborative, and offer their opinions on new designs last and only after collaborating and capturing the best of what engineering offers. You should live/breathe/think in box-and-line diagrams, constantly take notes, strive for cohesion, be patient with your colleagues but intolerant of inconsistent or poorly communicated architectural depictions.

- Analyzes product/business goals and fuses them with the designs of more junior architects to create cohesive technology solutions.
Candidate Profile
Strong knowledge of Cloud Architecture needed with especially deep experience with Azure. Applies professional concepts to contribute to development of company's concepts and principles and to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways. Must have a deep understanding of Terraform, build systems, secrets management and automated deployment.
Expert knowledge of architectural principles and concepts. Reputation as emerging leader in field with sustained performance and accomplishment.
Able to architect both greenfield deployments and migrations from other systems (especially AWS services). Experience with provisioning whole environments-on-demand and completely automated deployment is key. Needs to have a track record of designing systems that are comprehensively, redundant, monitored, and recover from disaster. Presents technical and functional knowledge to design experiments/projects that contribute to overall direction of department/ discipline. Works on extremely complex problems in which analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables. Exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
Explains difficult concepts and influences others. Interacts with team members and other managers and may include suppliers, vendors and/or customers. May oversee and manage the activities of more junior personnel - primary role is an individual contributor. Teaches, coaches, and provides timely feedback to develop the skills of others. Demonstrates and affirms the company’s cultural values in all interactions.
Normally requires a requires demonstrated history of automated infrastructure, architectural and technical project achievement, and a minimum of 8+ years related experience; may include post-doctoral experience. This is a level with an advanced engineering degree and typically 3-5 years of post-training experience.
The base salary range for this position is $XX,XXX - $XX,XXX. In addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements) listed here: Teladoc Health Benefits 2022 . Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
