Job Summary: Serves as the Director of Admissions and Recruitment for the College of Graduate Studies. The incumbent will manage and direct all outreach and recruitment efforts and communicate with potential applicants to graduate programs in the Biomedical Sciences. The incumbent will oversee all elements of the admissions process, collect and report all admissions data, and serve as a liaison to Enrollment Management, admissions committee chairs, and the dean and associate dean for admissions and career development in the College.

Payscale Salary Range: UNIV-Band 6: $43,030.00 - $61,323.00 - $79,616.00 (min - mid - max)

Job Duties:

  • 35% - Serves as the Admissions and Recruitment Director for the College of Graduate Studies. Working with the Associate Dean for Admissions and Career Development, the incumbent will spearhead outreach and recruitment efforts and communicate with potential applicants to graduate programs in Biomedical Sciences. Answers all email and other inquiries to the college in a timely fashion. Incumbent will maintain inquiry data bases (Fire Engine Red or the equivalent) and organize travel to undergraduate institutions and national conferences to recruit students. Contacts advisors and faculty at undergraduate institutions to coordinate recruitment trips. Has working knowledge of all programs in the College. Hosts visiting groups and coordinates visitors’ schedules. Sends recruiting emails and other correspondence to students and advisors. Hosts virtual platforms to advertise our programs and meet with prospective students - (Essential)
  • 25% - Provides support for PhD and MSBS admissions. Downloads and stores completed applications and acts as liaison to respective admissions committee. Prepares agendas and minutes from committee meetings and organizes and collates data for the committees. Prepares acceptance and rejection letters to applicants and mails out the letters. Prepares international documentation for students as needed. Acts as liaison to central enrollment regarding decisions made for applicants and updates application forms annually. Keeps an accurate data base of applicants and maintains error-free documents. Keeps admissions data for committee chair and distributes to committee members and program coordinators regularly through the admissions season. Corresponds with accepted applicants to answer questions related to matriculation. - (Essential)
  • 20% - Organizes PhD interview weekends. Corresponds with applicants to coordinate their visits and schedules events during weekends including hosting poster sessions, tours, oral presentations by faculty, and applicant dinners. Arranges and distributes interview weekend agendas to all stakeholders. Conducts follow up surveys of applicants and interviewers and collates data - (Essential)
  • 20% - Serves as CGS liaison with other colleges for recruitment strategies and attends committees related to this work. Updates information for brochures and flyers; interfaces with the CGS marketing and communications director to develop new materials and to update the CGS website and develop new recruitment videos and other interactive website materials. Maintains CGS membership in national organizations like NAGAP/BioGAP and collects analytics with regard to application outcomes. Provides admissions data to the Office of Research development and other faculty for training grants. Updates the annual report with regard to admissions. - (Essential)

Preferred Experience & Additional Skills: MS or EdD degree preferred; experience in higher education and admissions/recruitment.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: A bachelor's degree and three years experience in student services programs.
